Rebirth

Rebirth - if I could boil it down to one word, that's been the theme of my life for this year...and, I suppose, for my blog. Let's pour the foundation so I can build on it later:

In 2002, my friend Ian and I kept a blog at http://inquisitive.idlegames.net/ - known to our friends + fans as "inquisitive." At some point, it died. When I graduated college in 2007, I started up an independent blog as one of those semi-sentimental means of keeping in touch with everyone, post-school, and I named it "still inquisitive," because, well, I still was. (And am.) As of now I also still own the domain http://www.stillinquisitive.com/ - I wrote the HTML from scratch and liked the freedom of editing, but I was reluctant to write often because I spent as much time editing code as content. Not that fun. (You can still - for now - go back and read the handful of entries since Summer 2008, though.)

So I stopped writing in July 2009, taking apart the blog and taking apart my life. I traveled around, from Scandinavia to Costa Rica, and on my birthday in September I announced to my friends + family that I was leaving Massachusetts for Louisiana. Saying it out loud, and saying it repeatedly was the only way to begin to make it feel real. October came; I pared down my possessions, packed up my car, and drove to New Orleans - a city experiencing its own rebirth. And here I am.

And this is my blog, still inquisitive, rebirthed here in its latest incarnation.

Here's to all kinds of new beginnings - I'm really happy to be back.
